BECOMING HER

Starting Point Assessment

Before we focus on who you're becoming, let's take an honest look at where you're beginning.

This is not a test, and there are no right or wrong answers. This assessment is simply a snapshot of where you are today, what you believe, where you may be struggling, and where God may be inviting you to grow.

Answer honestly. Not as the woman you think you should be, but as the woman you are today.

1. How do you see yourself right now?

When you think about who you are today, what words come to mind? Don't filter them or write what you think you should say. Be honest about the way you currently see yourself.

2. What have you come to believe about yourself?

Think about the messages you’ve absorbed through your experiences, relationships, failures, successes, expectations, or past. What beliefs about yourself have become part of the way you think?

3. What has been shaping your identity?

Where have you been looking for your worth, value, or sense of enoughness? This could be your appearance, relationships, motherhood, career, accomplishments, approval from others, health, productivity, or something else.

4. How do you believe God sees you?

Not what you know the “right Christian answer” is. What do you genuinely believe when you imagine God looking at you?

5. What truth about God is hardest for you to believe personally?

Maybe you believe He is loving, but struggle to believe His love applies to you. Maybe you know He forgives, but still carry shame. Where is there a gap between what you know about God and what you actually believe for yourself?

6. Where do you feel stuck right now?

What area of your life feels like it keeps repeating the same cycle? Consider your faith, thoughts, confidence, relationships, habits, health, boundaries, emotions, or daily rhythms.

7. What have you been carrying?

What feels heavy right now? This might be hurt, shame, fear, expectations, disappointment, comparison, control, unforgiveness, regret, pressure or something else entirely.

8. How would you describe the way you are currently stewarding what God has entrusted to you?

Consider your body, time, gifts, responsibilities, relationships, resources, and spiritual life. Where do you feel faithful? Where do you know there is room to grow?

9. What do you know needs to change?

Without making a giant list of everything you think is “wrong” with you, what patterns, beliefs, habits, or areas of your life do you sense God inviting you to address?

10. Who is the woman you want to become?

Describe her. Not simply by what she accomplishes or how she looks, but by who she is. How does she think? How does she live? What does she believe? How does she respond to God?

11. What are you asking God to do through this journey?

If you could reach the end of Becoming Her and recognize that God had done something significant in you, what would you hope had changed?

Before You Move Forward

You do not need to fix everything you just wrote.

You don’t need to be ashamed of your starting point, and you don't need to become a different woman before God can begin working in you.

This assessment is simply a marker in the ground:

This is where I began.

Save these answers. We’re going to come back to them at the end of Becoming Her. Not so you can measure how perfectly you performed, but so you can recognize where God has transformed you.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion…” - Philippians 1:6
